The UNT Libraries Open Educational Resources (OER) Initiative team is excited to announce that OER and Open Texts grant applications are now open! These grants offer faculty members funding to support the creation of open textbooks, course packs, assignments, laboratory manuals, and other course materials tailored to their courses. For faculty, OER offers greater flexibility to customize course content, adapt materials to evolving disciplinary needs, and reduce dependence on costly commercial textbooks. For students, OER improves immediate access to required course materials from the first day of class while helping reduce the financial burden associated with course costs. Together, these efforts support affordability, access, and student success while fostering innovative teaching practices across the university.
