Concrete Mix Technology

It's All In the Mix
DP-75 Mobile Concrete Laboratory
TE-34 SHRP Concrete Showcase Contacts
      Concrete Durability (SHRP)
Alkali-Silica Reactivity (ASR) and Florescent Microscopy

The concrete mix technology (CMX) group is currently focuses on two key areas: (1) field management of concrete mixes, and (2) the design and construction of high-performance concrete bridges and pavements. An innovative mobile concrete laboratory is used to conduct workshops on state-of-the-art concrete technology as a technology transfer aid. Innovative and rapid testing methods for concrete and nondestructive testing equipment are emerging as a promising means of increasing productivity as well as quality. The activities of this technology group also include a 1-day workshop on nondestructive testing technology and an equipment loan program. In the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) area, showcase activities include concrete durability, alkali-silica reactivity, and high-performance concrete bridges. Above all, every activity and technology analysis in the CMX group is focused on producing and testing for a more durable and better quality concrete.
