Academic Info Academic Info is an Internet subject directory which is now supported by advertising. It seeks to provide access to college and research level Internet resources. There is a collection development policy that can be found through the About page that gives the criteria used to include websites.
BIOTN Best Information on the Net is another collaboration of librarians, at the St. Ambrose University Library. Their page on "Hot Paper Topics" is very useful for students writing speeches or papers.
BUBL Links Hosted by the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland, BUBL is an Internet-based information service for the UK higher education community.
Digital Librarian, A Librarian's Choice of the Best of the Web. The sites here are less academic.
Education Index This provides websites by life stage, so if you are looking for sites for children this is a good one to use.
InfoMine A scholarly Internet research collection, InfoMine is intended for the introduction and use of Internet/Web resources of relevance to faculty, students, and research staff at the university level. It is compiled and maintained by librarians, principally at universities in California.
Internet Public Library This is a service of the University of Michigan School of Information.
Librarian's Index to the Internet Another librarian-generated index, this one is more general in scope; might be more appropriate for public libraries.
Resources of Scholarly Societies Scholarly societies can be excellent sources for locating quality websites, as well as being important for students to know about, keep up with, or join for their professional growth. This site, provided by the University of Waterloo library, offers subject access to scholarly societies.
University of North Texas Quick Reference Sites Offers a wide variety of research tools.
Voice of the Shuttle One of the best, and most highly respected, sources of links for the Humanities. It exemplifies many of the criteria for a quality web site, and is useful for teaching purposes for that reason.
World Lecture Hall A project of the University of Texas at Austin, this resource publishes links to pages created by faculty worldwide who are using the Web to deliver course materials.
The WWW Virtual Library: The WWW VL is the oldest catalog of the web, started by Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of html and the web itself.
