We are pleased to announce a Digital Frontiers Webinar with K. J. Rawson: Building the Digital Transgender Archive | Friday, April 1, 2016 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM CDT

Human Library

Join us for our 4th Annual Human Library!

The Human Library features “Human Books” – representatives of traditionally misunderstood or stigmatized groups – who are available for “check out” by Library visitors.

Human Books and Volunteers Wanted for the Human Library!

Be a part of a “Living Library!”

UNT Libraries are looking for “Human Books” to challenge stereotypes through respectful conversation with others, and volunteers to help coordinate our annual Human Library event.

Your book title will relate to your experience of discrimination, based on presumptions of the general public (i.e. Young Single Parent, Refugee, Sikh, ADHD, etc.). We want to visually tell the world “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” and help people better understand those they share their communities with.

TX-Gender Project for Libraries Seeks to Improve Service to Transgender Patrons

The UNT Libraries Public Services Division is excited to announce a new research project to explore librarians' understanding of transgender issues, and the information and service needs of transgender patrons. The TX-Gender Project for Libraries will develop a research-based resource for librarians on providing excellent patron services to transgendered persons.

UNT Libraries partner with the Pride Alliance to present Queer Zine Week

The UNT Libraries and the UNT Pride Alliance are excited to host a week’s worth of events celebrating queer zines and the people who make them.

Featuring workshops and web chats with zine makers, zine librarians, and digital archivists preserving zines from around the country, Queer Zine Week has something for everyone!
