Borrowing Government Documents

Documents General Collection

Many of the materials in the Government Documents collections do circulate. If you have questions as to whether or not you are able to check out a government document, do not hesitate to visit the Government Documents Service Desk to ask a staff member.

Government documents are checked out on the First Floor of Willis Library, just like other items in the Libraries' general collection. See the Circulation Policies of the UNT Libraries for information about loan periods, checkout limits, renewals, fines, and replacement charges for lost or damaged materials.

Documents Reserve

Documents whose locations are designated as Documents Reserve, Special Materials, or Maps Reserve can in many cases be checked out for a short period of time. Ask for these items at the Government Documents Service Desk.

Because these items tend to be rare, delicate, or in high demand, the check-out period is more limited than that for items in the general collection, and the fine rate is much higher.
