Tutorial, with visuals, on how to search JSTOR for articles
Here is an introduction on how to access, search and how to get help when using JSTOR.
JSTOR is database that includes articles in a wide variety of fields including History, Political Science, Humanities and the Arts.
Access

From the library homepage, click on Electronic Resources: http://irservices.library.unt.edu/
- From the A-Z list, click on the letter J
- Scroll down and click on the name of the resource JSTOR
- If off campus, enter your EUID and Password. (For more, see: tips & tricks page)
- You will be then taken to the basic search page of the resource.
Search
The default search of the resource is the Advanced Search page. To access the basic search, select the JSTOR Home link in the menu bar on the top left of the page.
To go to the advanced search click on the "Advanced Search" hyperlink underneath the basic search dialog box.
Here is an example of an Advanced Search (click on thumbnail for larger image)
- Limit your results: This resources lets you limit the results you see by Item Type, Date Range, Language, discipline, and publication title
- Email articles: To send articles to yourself, check the box next to title of the article on the Results Page. Then, click on Email Article.
- Export articles to RefWorks by clicking the checkbox next to the title of the article and selecting "Export Citation." Next, select "RefWorks."
