Grove Dictionary of Art  The Grove Dictionary of Art Online provides Web access to the entire text of The Dictionary of Art (1996, 34 vols.) with constant additions of new material and updates to the text, plus extensive image links, and bibliographic information.  This resource is maintained by UNT Libraries. If accessing off campus, you will be asked for you a username (EUID), and password (EUID password).

New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians  The second edition of the excellent, comprehensive music encyclopedia that has over 29,000 articles by over 6,000 scholars from all over the world; includes the New Grove Dictionary of Opera.  This resource is maintained by UNT Libraries. Encyclopedia Smithsonian  Provides answers to frequently asked questions about the Smithsonian and links to Smithsonian resources from A to Z.

Religion & Philosophy

Catholic Encyclopedia  Search the alphabetical list of entries from the original Catholic Encyclopedia.

Jewish Encyclopedia This website contains the complete contents of the 12-volume Jewish Encyclopedia, which was originally published between 1901-1906.  This online version contains the unedited contents of the original encyclopedia.

Encyclopedia Mythica Search or browse this encyclopedia on mythology, folklore, legends, and more.

Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy  Provides classic philosophical texts and original contributions from professional philosophers.

Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy  A dynamic reference work in Philosophy.  Each entry in the encyclopedia is maintained and kept up to date by an expert or group of experts in the field.

SYMBOLS.com  Contains more than 2,500 Western signs, arranged into 54 groups according to their graphic characteristics.

History

Handbook of Texas Online  The Handbook of Texas Online is a multidisciplinary encyclopedia of Texas history, geography, and culture sponsored by the Texas State Historical Association and the General Libraries at UT Austin.

LookLex Encyclopaedia  (formerly the Encyclopaedia of the Orient) An encyclopedia on the cultures and religions of North Africa and the Middle East.

CountryReports.org  An encyclopedia containing national anthems, flags, maps, weather, and news for the nations of the world

The UNT Libraries will be closed Saturday, May 26 through Monday, May 28 for the Memorial Day weekend. The Libraries will reopen during regular building hours on Tuesday, May 29.
