1. What are the hours of the Research and Instructional Services department?
Research and Instructional Services (RIS) librarians provide Ask Us reference services, workshops, and library instruction.

Us reference services (desk, phone and IM) vary by semester, so
please see the Library
Hours page for the latest information.
- Our library liaisons can provide individual consultation by appointment.
- Our library instructors will schedule meetings with your classes.
2. Where is the location of the Research and Instructional Services department?
- Research and Instructional Services department mostly staffs the reference help desk on the 1st
floor of the Willis Library. If you have an appointment, it will likely be in our Willis Library office, room 155 on the 1st floor.

3. Where are you located?
- Research and Instructional Services department mostly staffs the reference help desk on the 1st
floor of the Willis Library. If you have an appointment, it will likely be in our Willis Library office, room 155 on the 1st floor.
- Other help desks in Willis Library include: The Government Documents Library (3rd floor) , The Music Library (4th floor)and The Rare Book and Texana Collections (4th floor).
4. How do I use the computers in the Libraries?
Using the computers in the libraries requires that you log in as a student/staff/faculty with your EUID and password, or you can just log in as a guest. Guest login is the default when you click the "I have read and understand these statement" button. You must log in with your EUID and password to access software such as Microsoft Office. The computer screen will guide you on how to log in. See also the computing services web page.
5. Do you have anything to help me find books and journal articles for my paper?
Yes, please start with the How do I Begin page.

6. How do I format citations?
If you need more than examples, you'll want to contact the UNT Writing Lab. Web sites such as OWL at Purdue Writing Lab provide formatting examples for APA and MLA styles. The Quick Reference Writing Style Manuals library web page has many more examples. Searching the UNT Library Catalog will tell you which manuals we have in print. Ask Us if you need help locating these manuals. Be sure to check the edition. The print manuals are not available for check-out.
7. How do I change my password?
Go to http://ams.unt.edu and reset your password. It normally takes 5-15 minutes for the new password to take effect. You can log in as a guest at the Libraries' computers to reset your password.
8. What services are provided for distance learners?
The Information for Distance Learning Students page provides information specific to this status and a checklist to make sure you eligible for these library services. Distance learning students can request items, including items we own, by using their ILLiad account. *Note: When you register for an ILLiad account, choose status "Dist Learning"; this will assure that you have access to special Distance Learning request forms. Please use the Ask Us services or contact your subject liaison for research help.
9. How do I use the journal article databases / electronic resources?
