George Bragg (1926-2007), founder and first director of the Texas Boys' Choir, donated his personal music library to his alma mater, the University of North Texas. This gift included materials from the Denton Civic Boy Choir, the Texas Boys' Choir, and many other choirs from around the world.
A large room on the fourth floor of the Willis Library has been specially renovated to house Mr. Bragg's library. The University of North Texas Music Library is currently seeking donations and grants to help preserve and catalog these materials.
If you would like to make a donation to the continued preservation of Mr. Bragg's library, you may download the fund-raising brochure, fill in the form, and send it with a check to:
Morris Martin
P.O. Box 305190
University of North Texas
Denton, TX 76203-5190
Be sure to indicate on your check that your donation is for the "George Bragg Music Library."
Future plans for the collection include the digital preservation of rare visual and audio materials as well as continued detailed additions to this Special Collections website. It is hoped that the George Bragg Boy Choir Music Library will serve as a research center for information about Mr. Bragg, his work, and the continuing work of his students for many years to come.
