The works shown here are selected entries from the 2001 Artists' Books Competition, and were exhibited in the Artists' Books Exhibition, held in the Rare Book Room of the Willis Library, January-February 2002.

	Winner: 2001 Artists' Books Competition The Better to See You With Herman Iselin 2001.  Fur, velvet, paper. The story of Little Red Riding Hood, printed in Braille, bound in wolf fur with embroidered red velvet end-papers.  Designed so that a blind child could read the story, and experience the velvet of Red Riding Hood's riding hood, and the fur of the wolf. Awarded the Friends of the UNT Libraries Purchase Prize, and presented to the Rare Book & Texana Collections. Call Number: N7433.4.I84 B48 2001
	The Broken Song Jean Roelke 2001.  Paper, ink. Mixed graphics and text printed on loose sheets "bound" with black clip.
	In Honeyed Air Jean Roelke 2000.  Mixed media. Wooden lattice boards hinged at center containing acetate and paper elements attached to boards with various tapes.
	Scheherazade Jean Roelke 1999.  Acetate, ink, clipboard. Mixed text and images on acetate sheets, clipped to a clear Plexiglas clipboard.  Shown illuminated from behind.
	Honorable Mention: 2001 Artists' Books Competition One Family Sue Stein 2000. Lithography, leather, dying. Edition of 5.  Accordion format pages contained within leather covers.
	Unconditional Love Sue Stein 2000. Paint, fabric, linocuts, vellum. Painted fabric covers contain hand-rubbed linocuts and prints on vellum.
	Walking Sue Stein 2000.  Paint, fabric, paper, ink. Edition of 2.  Two books in one.  Painted fabric covers containing pages with computer-generated graphics.
