American Cost of Living Survey

Reported price and data for hundreds of goods and services in 506 U.S. cities and metropolitan statistical areas are found in this source. It is arranged alphabetically by city or MSA (at least one in each state) and prices are categorized under headings such as "Alcoholic Beverages," "Clothing," "Health Care," "Taxes," and "Utilities." Prices of many specific brand name products are included.

Complex demographic issues are broken into easy-to-understand sections, explaining consumer behavior and demonstrating the structure of the market.
