The works shown here are selected entries from the 1999 Artists' Books Competition, and were exhibited in the Artists' Books Exhibition, held in the Rare Book Room of the Willis Library, January-February 2000.

	Winner: 1999 Artists' Books Competition Generations Teel Savage 1999.  Hand-made paper, onion skins, flowers, twine, metal, wax. Hand-made paper discs overlaid with onion skins and flowers, coated with wax.  "Bound" by a single length of twine that runs through the center of each disk, with knots and metal washers.  Housed in a hand-made container covered in wax. Awarded the Friends of the UNT Libraries Purchase Prize, and presented to the Rare Book & Texana Collections. Call Number: N7433.4.S28 G46 1999
	Haiku Sequence Jean Roelke and Marie C. Jones 1999.  Wood, Japanese paper, ink. Delicate panels of Japanese paper inscribed with a series of Haiku are mounted on a folding wood frame to create a screen.
	Match Book Teel Savage 1999.  Matchbooks, paper, velcro. Matchbooks mounted on framework with velcro.
	Mine! Laurelle Denning Campbell 1999.  Zinc etching, cardboard, glitter paper. Series of zinc etchings and text on shaped pages bound into larger volume creating texts within texts.
	Honorable Mention: 1999 Artists' Books Competition Thin Etched Line Teel Savage 1999. Paper, ink, thread. Variable edition of 3.  Original prints cut down, and assembled into a Coptic-style binding.  Throughout the book runs an added etched red line printed over the other pages, linking the fragmentary images. 	Residual A. Herbst 1999.  Paper, graphite. Faint graphite works on folded paper pages.
