State of Texas State Classification Office (HR)
The State Classification Office (SCO) is a unique team that is responsible for maintaining the State’s Compensation and Classification System and providing information on employee compensation issues to the Legislature.

In addition to compensation management, the SCO has the opportunity to provide advice and guidance to state agencies and conduct research and analysis of statewide workforce and human resources management issues. The SCO assists the Legislature and state human resources departments through three strategic areas: compensation management, workforce analysis, and general HR services.
