- Texas Almanac
(Dallas Morning News)
Available at Government Documents Reference Desk, General Reference Desk (1st Floor Willis Library), and UNT System Center at Dallas. - This biennial publication of Belo Corporation is the most comprehensive general compilation of statistics related to Texas.
- Compendium of Texas Socioeconomic Data (Window on Texas State Government)
- City, county, and state level data on various topics. Format requires Microsoft Excel Viewer.
- Texas County Information Project (Texas Association of Counties)
- Central clearinghouse for county-related information. Partnerships with the U.S. Census Bureau, the Texas State Data Center, and other agencies provide much of the raw data, which CIP then turns into comprehensible information. A large part of this information is available on TAC’s Web site (Basic Data). The CIP can also prepare custom reports and maps at the request of county officials, the legislature, state and federal agencies, and individuals.
- Texas Fact Book

Paper copy available at Government Documents Service Desk. - This biennial publication provides a selection state-level data for Texas as well as rankings comparing Texas with other states.
- Texas State Data Center and Office of the State Demographer (SDC)
- The SDC, in cooperation with a network of affiliates, functions as a focal point for the distribution of Texas demographic, economic, and social statistics produced by the U.S. Census Bureau. The Center also disseminates population estimates and projections for Texas, as well as other information from the federal government, state government, and other sources. The SDC provides training and technical assistance in accessing and using Census Bureau data for research, administration, planning and decision making by local governments, the business community, and other interested data users.

state and county level data related to agriculture. Includes fact
sheets, census data, interactive maps, publications, and news releases.
- Border Enterprise and Economic Development, Texas Center (Texas A&M International University)
- The Data Center includes U.S. Census Data, Texas Census Data, and data on U.S. Exports and Imports, Border Crossings, and Regional Indicators. The Center Publications may have other statistics. The Texas Center is an affiliate of the Business and Industry Data Center (BIDC) program.
- [Criminal Justice] Statistics (Texas Department of Criminal Justice)
- Data on probation, death row, business and finance services, health services, and risk management. More TDCJ statistics can be found in the Publications section of their Web site.
- Finances and Economy (Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts)
- Legislators rely on the Comptroller’s office to chart the course of the
Texas economy, produce annual reports on the state’s finances and
estimate revenues coming to state government in the future. State
agencies trust the Comptroller to pay their bills and issue paychecks
to their employees. And all Texas residents depend on our agency to
safeguard their tax dollars and ensure that they are handled wisely. This Web site includes economic indicators and forecasts, and data on government revenue and expenditures.

- Current and historical data on building permits, employment, home sales, housing affordability, population, and rural land.
- Vital Statistics Annual Reports (Texas Department of State Health Services, Center for Health Statistics)
- Demographic data on births, deaths, fetal deaths, abortions, marriages, and divorces. The DSHS also has a Texas Vital Statistics page for obtaining birth certificates, death certificates, and birth, death, marriage, and divorce verification letters. This page has no statistics.
