Sage Journals Online
Many sociology sources in Sage resources. Sage Journals Online will help you find articles. See Overview page
Access
1. Go to the electronic resources page for the letter S
(http://irservices.library.unt.edu/ais.cfm?alpha=S)
2. Scroll down and click on the name Sage Journals Online
3. Enter your EUID and EagleMail password (if off campus)
4. Click on the Advanced Search Tab at the top of the screen
(this gives you more options to focus your search)
5. Make sure the "Search Within" area has the "SAGE Content Available to me" button selected
(This should limit to journals in our collection so you don't get a prompt to order the article)
Search
1. Enter your search terms
(Be sure to ask us if you need assistance with searching. Subject terms can be tricky!)
2. . Click the red search button
Advanced Search Example:
United States (in box one) and Ireland (in box two) in [Abstract]
This would dramatically reduce your results from a keyword search because if you are searching for those terms in an abstract, the article is focused on them. If you are still getting results, add another search term (or variable) in the third search in the default all fields.
For example United States and Ireland in Abstract and adoption is very specific and might lead to one article.
It's all about playing with keywords and databases to find what you need.
