UNT's Department of Philosophy and Religion Studies is the leading center for the study in environmental ethics and environmental philosophy in North America. The department website features information on academic programs, research, and faculty.

UNT's Philosophy and Religion Studies department engages in a wide range of research and lectures, and sponsors a continuing series of events and guest speakers.

The Department is the leading center for the study in environmental ethics and environmental philosophy in North America and offers a Master of Arts in Philosophy and a PhD in Philosophy in cooperation with the University of Texas at Arlington. It is equally based in the analytic and continental traditions and encourages students to study environmental issues from an interdisciplinary perspective.
