American Indian Heritage Foundation (AIHF)
The American Indian Heritage Foundation was established to provide relief services to Indian people nationwide and to build bridges of understanding and friendship between Indian and non-Indian people.
Bristol Bay Native Association (BBNA)
A service agency dedicated to the betterment of the Native People of the Bristol Bay region.
Bureau of Indian Affairs (U.S. Department of the Interior)
The Bureau of Indian Affairs’ mission is to enhance the quality of life, to promote economic opportunity, and to carry out the responsibility to protect and improve the trust assets of American Indians, Indian tribes, and Alaska Natives.

From War to Self-Determination: A history of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, a report from the American Studies Centre at Liverpool John Moores University, traces the development of the Bureau of Indian Affairs from attempts to obtain tribal neutrality during the Revolutionary War in 1775, through the assimilation policy of the late 1800's, to the modern policy of self-determination. 
Indian Nations Council of Governments (INCG)
A voluntary association of local governments serving Creek, Osage, Tulsa, and Wagoner counties.
International Indian Treaty Council (IITC)
An organization of indigenous peoples from North, Central, and South America, and the Pacific, working for the sovereignty and self-determination of indigenous peoples and the recognition and protection of indigenous rights, traditional cultures, and sacred lands.
Iroquois Constitution (Tuscarora and Six Nations WebSites)
This Native American oral document, reconstructed here by archeologist Arthur C. Parker from legend and spoken history, was a model for the U.S. Constitution.

Montana Wyoming Tribal Leaders Council
Promotes the common welfare of all the Indian Reservation peoples of Montana and Wyoming by preserving and maintaining their homelands, defending their rights under Indian treaties with the United States, enabling them to speak in a unified voice, offering support to their people, and by providing them a forum in which to consult each other and enlighten each other about their peoples.
National Congress of American Indians (NCAI)
The National Congress of American Indians was founded in 1944 and is the oldest and largest tribal government organization in the United States. NCAI serves as a forum for consensus-based policy development among its membership of over 250 tribal governments from every region of the country.

NCAI's mission is to inform the public and the federal government on tribal self-government, treaty rights, and a broad range of federal policy issues affecting tribal governments.
National Tribal Justice Resource Center (NTJRC)
Designed to assist and inform both court personnel and the public, this clearinghouse of information for Native American and Alaska Native tribal justice systems includes court opinions, supreme court opinions and case information, over 100 tribal codes and constitutions, downloadable full-text publications, a searchable database of over 1500 court opinions, a tribal court message forum, grant information, listservs, mailing lists, and many other resources. 
National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC)
The primary mission of the NIGC is to regulate gaming activities on Indian lands for the purposes of shielding Indian tribes from organized crime and other corrupting influences; ensuring that Indian tribes are the primary beneficiaries of gaming revenues; and assuring that gaming is conducted fairly and honestly by both operators and players. 
Native American Constitution and Law Digitization Project (University of Oklahoma)
This Project is a cooperative effort among the University of Oklahoma Law Center, the National Indian Law Library (NILL), and Native American tribes providing access to the constitutions, tribal codes, land titles, and other legal documents.
Native American Nations (Nativeculture.com)
Links to pages that have either been set up by the nations themselves, or are pages devoted to a particular nation. Arranged alphabetically by name of the tribe. 
Native American Rights Fund (NARF)
Non-profit organization that provides legal representation and technical assistance to Indian tribes, organizations and individuals nationwide. 
NativeWeb: Resources for Indigenous Cultures Around the World (James McCanna)
NativeWeb is an international, nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to using telecommunications including computer technology and the Internet to disseminate information from and about indigenous nations, peoples, and organizations around the world; to foster communication between native and non-native peoples; to conduct research involving indigenous peoples' usage of technology and the Internet; and to provide resources, mentoring, and services to facilitate indigenous peoples’ use of this technology.
Office of Tribal Justice (U.S. Department of Justice)
Intended to increase the responsiveness of the Justice Department to Indian tribes and American Indian citizens, the Office of Tribal Justice serves as a permanent point of contact between the Department and federally recognized Indian tribes. The Office of Tribal Justice represents the Department in its dealing with Indian tribes, federal agencies, Congress, state and local governments, professional associations, and public interest groups.
Tribal Governments (FirstGov)
Links to official tribal government Web sites and related information. 
Tribal Preservation Program (National Park Service)
Works with Indian Tribes, Alaska Native Groups, and Native Hawaiians to preserve and protect resources and traditions that are of importance to Native Americans. Its main purpose is to help Indian tribes strengthen their own community preservation programs through training opportunities and grant awards.

The UNT Libraries will be closed Saturday, May 26 through Monday, May 28 for the Memorial Day weekend. The Libraries will reopen during regular building hours on Tuesday, May 29.
