State Attorney General Opinions
The Attorney General is the chief legal advisor to the executive agencies of government.
Attorneys general are often asked by government agencies to render legal advice, such as how to interpret the meaning of statutes. Opinions of an attorney general are merely advisory statements and not binding on the courts, but they are generally followed by executive officers and have influence on the courts, especially when there is no precedent to the contrary.
