Finding Print Books

You can find print books on your biology topic by using the UNT Library Catalog.

Please see the tutorial, How to Find Books, for instructions.

Types of Books

1. Reference Books: If the location of a book is "Willis Reference" or "Eagle Commons Reference," that means the book is in a reference collection and cannot be checked out. It can be "referred" to while you are in the library.

However, depending on the popularity of the book, a reference staff member may give you permission to check out the book for a short time. Please visit the reference desk by the entrance of any UNT library to ask for permission to checkout any non-circulating material.

2. Circulating Books: "Circulating books" are the ones that you can check out of the library. Look at the status of a book in the catalog. If it does not say, "For Library Use Only," then you can usually check it out.

Checkout Periods

Please visit our page of Circulation Policies to find out how long you can check out a book.
