- The book's cover--often at the front or back of the book there is an "about the author" blurb
- Books in Print -- use the Author Bios feature
- Google Books -- these often have the author blurb included
- Biography and Genealogy Master Index - contains references to biographical information
- COS Scholar Universe -- available from the Electronic Resources menu
- Refworks -- contains some author profiles
