How to get to the UNT Libraries Web site:
- Type in the UNT Libraries' URL: http://www.library.unt.edu/
How to access electronic resources from off campus:
- Type in the UNT Libraries' URL: http://www.library.unt.edu/
- Click on More under Library Services.
- Click on Information for Special Audiences on the left hand sidebar.
- Click on Off Campus Users.
- Click Tips and Tricks. This will give you information on how to access the electronic resources from your home or office.
- Return to the Libraries' Homepage http://www.library.unt.edu/
- Choose Electronic resources
- When you open the database of your choice, it will ask you for a user name and password. Use your EUID for the user name and the password is your Eagle Mail password.
How to access the UNT Libraries catalog:
- Type in the UNT Libraries' URL: http://www.library.unt.edu/·
- Click on UNT Library Catalog The UNT library catalog will show if the materials you need are owned by the UNT Libraries. Search by Title or Subject to find books and journals.
How to find help from a library staff member:
- Go to the UNT Library Home Page http://www.library.unt.edu/·
- You may view the various ways we currently have available for contacting library reference staff members via Ask Us. You have the option to get online help (a chat room with a library reference staff member), e-mail reference or phone a reference staff member using local or toll free numbers.

How to find eBooks:
Ebooks on Ebscohost (formerly NetLibrary) is our collection of ebooks that can be accessed from our website.
To access them:
Go to the Library homepage
Click on Electronic Resources
Go to the letter "E"
Select Ebooks on Ebscohost.
You can search these Ebooks directly or link to if from a search of the UNT Library catalog.
How to order materials not in the catalog:
- If you find materials in a database that the library does not have in the catalog, you may order it through InterLibrary Loan.
- Go to the UNT Library Home Page http://www.library.unt.edu/.
- Under Library Services click on InterlibraryLoan and Document Delivery.
- You must first create an Illiad account to order from Interlibrary Loan.
How to use any library in Texas:
- Go to the circulation desk at Willis Library and request a Tex-Share card or call (940)565-2413, or send an e-mail request to circ@library.unt.edu including your name, student ID number and address.
- This card allows you to use any public or academic library in Texas.
How to use Academic Search Complete:
- Go to the UNT Library Home Page http://www.library.unt.edu/
- Click on Electronic Resources.
- Go to Browse abstract and index databases titles alphabetically
- Click on the letter A.
- Click on Academic Search Complete
- In the find box enter keywords for the topic you are interested in.
Mark all of the records that interest you.
- Click on print/email/save and follow directions.
How to use PsycInfo:
- Go to the Library Home Page http://www.library.unt.edu/
- Click on electronic resources.
- Go to browse abstract and database titles alphabetically:
- Click on the letter P.
- Scroll down the list and click on Psycinfo via Ebscohost.
- The Advanced Search screen will open.
- Take your topic and brainstorm on all the different words that might describe the topic.
- Enter these keywords in the FIND boxes, connect them with the appropriate Boolean search term (and, or, not).
- Scroll down and apply any of the limits if desired and click on search.
- Use search history on the middle blue tab to combine the results of your searches in different ways to refine or expand your search.
- To limit your search to the appropriate journals for the assignment or to limit in certain other ways click on the index tab.
- In the top drop down box labeled browse an index scroll to journal name.
- Enter the first journal title in the browse for box and click browse.
- When the list appears click on the box next to the correct journal title and click add.
- Check the boxes you wish to use, combine with the appropriate term in the drop down box.
- Click on the blue hyperlink to access the full citation and abstract.
- Click on the folder to the right of an article that interests you. It will be added to the folder at the top right of the page.
- Click on the folder and you can then Print, Save to Floppy Disk or E-Mail the citations to yourself.
- Click on the logout button on the top of the page when you are finished.
How to find general information online
- Go to the UNT Library Home Page http://www.library.unt.edu/
- Click on Resources for library research
- Under Research Sources, click on Quick Reference.
- You will find atlases, almanacs, biography collections, calculators, calendars and timelines, dictionaries and thesauri, encyclopedias, quotations, statistics and much more.
