Welcome to the LIS End of Program Examination Page!

Rayne Vieger Web Portrait

Hello, my name is Rayne Vieger. I have compiled the following to serve as a guide to assist you in successfully navigating the UNT Libraries and preparing for you upcoming exam.

LIS End of Program Examination (LIS EOP) is the culminating experience offered to all SLIS Students and is designed to encapsulate the knowledge developed through your educational career and library science program.

This page is a list of useful links, recommended databases, both for library and information science, and other links designed to help you navigate the myriad sources available to you through UNT Libraries.

Note: The LIS reference collection has been moved to the Discovery Park Library at Discovery Park.  Please check the location and hours of the library before coming to the campus to use the available books and journals.

Useful Links

  • LIS EOP Calendar - Outlines all important dates relating to the LIS End of Program Examination.
  • LIS EOP Information Page - Outlines the requirements for completing the LIS End of Program Examination.
  • LIS EOP Brochure - Includes everything from search tips to how to create an LISTA (EBSCOhost) account.
  • Report an ER Problem - Fill out a report if you are having trouble accessing an electronic resource through UNT Libraries.
  • Check your EUID password - This allows you to log in to your account to ensure your password will not expire during Capstone week.  Once you log in, you will be able to see when your password next expires.
  • CrossRef - This website allows you to find an article's DOI if it has been assigned one (keep in mind that not every article will have a DOI).
  • Writing and citation style manual - Library and Information Sciences uses APA 6th edition as its writing style.  You can also find a number of other online sources about APA and other citation styles here by using UNT's Scholary and Professional style manuals.
  • Purdue OWL APA Style Guide - The Owl at Purdue maintains an excellent site for help in formatting your paper, in-text citations, and reference lists according to American Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition standards.

RefWorks 2.0 LogoAn online reference manager. RefWorks stores and organizes your references and creates in-text citations and bibliographies in the writing style of your choice. It is an extremely useful tool for almost any library class, but will be especially useful for the LIS End of Program Examination (LIS EOP), so be sure to familiarize yourself with it before the exam! Learn it today with our RefWorks online workshop.
