Group Exercise using the SNAP Process

Always evaluate internet sources before using them for anything!!!

Your mother tells you that two of your cousins in Vermont want to get married.  She wants you to help her find out if that action is legal and/or generally a good idea.  Using your computer skills you find several web sites.

Being an intelligent, well educated, soon-to-be illustrious graduate of the University of North Texas, you quickly evaluate each web site using the SNAP analysis.

First article
http://www.tedpack.org/cuzdate.html

Okay, now analyze:

S
= Source:  Somebody created this site. Who created the site?

N = Nature of the site.  Why does this site exist? What is its purpose?

A = Appearance/Accessibility.  Does this site function efficiently?

P = Page Content:. Is the information accurate and reliable, and up to date?

 Second article
http://www.straightdope.com/columns/041001.html

Okay, now analyze:

S
= Source:  Somebody created this site. Who created the site?

N = Nature of the site.  Why does this site exist? What is its purpose?

A = Appearance/Accessibility.  Does this site function efficiently?

P = Page Content. Is the information accurate and reliable, and up to date?

Third article:
http://healthvermont.gov/research/records/marry.pdf

Okay, now analyze:

S
= Source:  Somebody created this site? Who created the site?

N = Nature of the site.  Why does this site exist? What is its purpose?

A = Appearance/Accessibility.  Does this site function efficiently?

P = Page Content. Is the information accurate and reliable, and up to date?

Last Question:

Which, if any, of the three sites would you use at the basis for making a decision and why?
