History of Rome: Books

To Find Books Owned by the UNT Libraries:

*Search the UNT Libraries Online Catalog.  Choose the "subject" or "keyword" search options.
*Search names in the order of: last name, first name.  Example: Vitruvius, Pollio
*Other subject search examples: Rome Art, Rome Architecture
*Other keyword search examples: Rome and Art, Vatican and Architecture, Rome and Architecture, Vitruvius and Architecture, Pantheon and Hadrian, and "Domus Aurea".

To Find Books Available at Other Universities

Search the World Catalog to find books not owned by UNT.  The World Catalog contains more than 35 million records describing items owned by libraries around the world.  WorldCat does not include individual articles, stories in journals, magazines, newspapers, or book chapters.
*To find out if the UNT Libraries own the book, click on the title  and then "Libraries that own" link.  Books  not owned by the UNT Libraries may be requested to be borrowed through Inter-Library Loan.

*To find journal articles, search the databases listed below.  Journals will have the most up-to-date, scholarly information on your topic. If accessing off campus, you will be asked for a username (EUID), and password (EUID password).
*Search names in the following manner: (last name, first).  Example: Caesar, Julius, Julius II, Pope.   Examples of other keyword searches:   Pantheon and Hadrian, and "Domus Aurea".

*If you don't find the full-text of the journal article in the databases, you will need to search the UNT Libraries Online Catalog, to determine if the UNT Libraries subscribes to the journal. To do this, click on the UNT Libraries Online Catalog, and choose the "journal title" search option, and type the title of the journal in the search box.
*If the UNT Libraries do not subscribe to the journal that has your journal article, then you can order a copy of the article from the UNT Libraries borrowing program Inter-Library Loan.
