Exhibition Catalogs and Books on Portrait and Figurative Artists

*To find books on individual portrait and figurative artists:

Search the UNT Online Catalog. Search artists and painter's names in following manner: last name, first name. Example:  Saville, Jenny; Pearlstein, Philip; Clemente, Francesco; Bacon, Francis; Kahlo, Frida.
*Other keyword search examples for finding portraits or figurative art:
Figure and Painting; Portrait and Painting; "Self-portrait", Artist and Portrait; Matisse and Portrait; Women and Portrait.

*To Find Exhibition Catalogs on Individual Figurative Painters:

Exhibition catalogs are the best source of images of an artist's portraits or figurative works. Search the artist's name and the word "exhibition".  Example: Kahlo, Frida and exhibition.

*To Find Exhibition Catalogs and Books not Owned by the UNT Libraries:

Search the World Catalog using the same search strategies used to search the UNT Libraries Online Catalog.  World Catalog contains more than 35 million records describing items owned libraries around the world. World Catalog does not include individual articles, stories in journals, magazines, newspapers, or book chapters. To find out if UNT owns the exhibition catalog or book, click on the title and then "Libraries that own" link.  Books not owned by UNT may be borrowed through the UNT Libraries borrowing program known as Inter-Library Loan.
