The Edible Book Festival
What is the Edible Book Festival?
It is a yearly event held on or around April 1 throughout the world from 2-4 p.m. It is a celebration of art, food, libraries, and community. It celebrates the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826), author of Physiologie du Goût and known for such musings as "Chocolate is Life".
The Rare Book & Texana Collections has participated in the event since 2003.
The Festival is held as a fundraiser, and to raise awareness of the Libraries and the Rare Book & Texana Collections.
