Prospectus

This volume was donated to UNT's Rare Book Room under the condition that it be repaired. The purpose of this project is to facilitate the above-mentioned frail book back into shape so that scholars and other curious inquirers can study it without causing unnecessary damage. The goal is to use techniques I have learned and will learn to give this book a longer life than its current condition foretells. To help describe the process and techniques, photographs are included. Also, I researched the book itself (for example watermarks, consistency of catchwords, formula), its author, and anything else so as to be familiar with what I restored. This volunteer/personal work (an average of 17 hours a week) used, tested, and enhanced my knowledge acquired in the following courses: Rare Books, English Bibliography, Preservation, and Website Development. The code for this page was handwritten, minus two parts where I used FrontPage: the "catchwords" table and the figuring out of how to make super scripts.
