Marbling and Endpapers
Unfortunately, the marbled paper used as the pastedowns in the original binding
could not be reused. Instead of marbled paper, which was not available for all
five volumes, I used a classic ivory, subtly iridescent paper shown below.
Also,
the fore edge, head, and tail are marbled with colors consistent with the
pastedowns, although the marbling is not as evident after the pages were re-sewn
because it is virtually impossible to hand sew the pages and keep them as neat
as they were in the original state without shaving them down, which again would
remove the original marbling.
