Volume VII: Textus Roffensis, Part I
The contents of this manuscript, written at Rochester in 1122 or soon after, fall into two parts, which are reproduced separately in our series, the present volume comprising the first section and volume XI the second. The first part contains laws followed by genealogies and similar chronological material. It is a compilation of outstanding importance because it contains codes and parts of codes, particularly of the early laws of Kent, which do not survive elsewhere.
