About the Collections

The Rare Book & Texana Collections comprise 20,000+ items divided into various collections based on content, format, size, or audience.

The collections include not just books, but also periodicals, maps, posters, prints, photographs, original artwork, artifacts, manuscripts, letters, clothing, microforms, electronic files, and videos.  Materials range from 4,000-year-old clay tablets to items produced less than a year ago. 

The materials are arranged into 6 major collections, which can contain various sub-collections:

TXSSAR Archives (Texas Society Sons of the American Revolution)
