The Edible Book Festival

What is the Edible Book Festival?

It is a yearly event held on or around April 1 throughout the world from 2-4 p.m.  It is a celebration of art, food, libraries, and community.  It celebrates the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826), author of Physiologie du Goût and known for such musings as "Chocolate is Life".

The UNT Libraries, hosted by the Rare Books Room, has participated in the event annually since 2003.  2009 represents change as the Research and Instruction Department, under the auspices of the Outreach Unit, have taken on hosting duties for the Edible Book Festival.

The Festival is held as a fundraiser, and to raise awareness of the Libraries.
