Threads of Remembrance: Special Collections Exhibit

October 2017 marks the 30th anniversary of the inaugural display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. With so many years passed, and the invention of medications allowing people to live with HIV/AIDS, it is easy to forget the devastation that this outbreak caused. The AIDS Memorial Quilt was created to give a visual reference to the number of people lost to this disease, and to act as a reminder of the events that caused so many lives to be lost.

Scholarly Communication Workshops: Open Data and the Data Lifecycle

This workshop will help researchers understand how to manage and share their research data through free and open platforms.

The UNT Libraries Scholarly Communication Office and the UNT Digital Library are hosting a series of workshops designed to introduce researchers to some of the central issues in scholarly communication and to the services that the Libraries provide.

This series is open to all UNT faculty, students, and staff who want to learn more about topics related to transformations scholarly communication.

In this workshop, we will discuss some of the recent controversies surrounding “predatory” journals and ways to evaluate a journal’s quality.

Digital Frontiers 2017 | Exploring the Edges, Pushing the Boundaries

The 6th annual Digital Frontiers Conference is coming home to the University of North Texas in September 2017! 

Digital Frontiers is the largest and longest-running digital humanities conference in Texas. Founded at UNT in 2012, Digital Frontiers is an annual conference that explores advances and research in humanities and cultural memory through the lenses of digital scholarship, technology, and multidisciplinary discourse.
