About

The Texas Digital Library (TDL) is a consortium of higher education institutions in Texas that provides shared digital library services in support of research and learning. This statewide consortium enables each of its member libraries to advance a program of digital initiatives in support of research, scholarship, and learning in Texas.

As a TDL member institution, the UNT Libraries have access to the full suite of services offered through this consortium. Membership in the TDL provides opportunities for collaboration, shared resources, and support to advance digital initiatives aligned with the mission and goals of the UNT Libraries.

Texas Conference on Digital Libraries

TDL organizes the annual Texas Conference on Digital Libraries (TCDL), which covers topics relevant to the creation, promotion and preservation of research, scholarship and cultural heritage digital materials. The goal of TCDL is to bring together those working on digital projects—including programmers, software developers, outreach librarians, repository managers, cataloguers, faculty members, administrators, and others—in order to build a practical, usable and sustainable model for digital libraries. Staff from TDL member institutions receive a discount on registration.

Vireo ETD Submission and Management System

The Vireo electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) management system provides a more efficient way for students to submit digital copies of their theses and dissertations and graduate offices and faculty to manage the approval process through a simple online interface. The UNT Libraries and Toulouse Graduate School are working to implement the Vireo ETD submission and management system hosted by TDL for the 2015–2016 academic year.
