On Tuesday, March 26, 2013 the Supreme Court heard oral argument in Hollingsworth v. Perry, the challenge to California’s ban on same-sex marriage in that state. On Wednesday, March 27 Justices will hear oral argument in United States v. Windsor, the challenge to the constitutionality of the federal Defense of Marriage Act.
The United States Supreme Court held today that buying books abroad and selling them in the United States is not a violation of copyright law. Instead, it is well within the rights of an individual under the first sale doctrine.
