List of Works

This collection of scores is the residue of more than 50 years of work, distributed among 40 cardboard boxes of varying size and shape.

Each box contains one or more works of the same category, including holograph scores and sketches, plus printed scores (in the case of published works), programs, press notices and relevant correspondence.

The boxes are arranged in the following categories:

Two additional boxes contain material which, however inconsequential, I did not wish to destroy. These are the "OFF LIST" boxes:

X-"Pop-Songs", Fite Songs, Humorous Songs, etc.

Y-Incidental music for plays, misc. unperformed works, student exercises (1935-1950).

Works are listed in this Index by category, approximately in reverse chronological order of their composition. Category and box number (A-1, e.g.) are shown at the left of each title. The date shown at the right of the title is the year in which the work was completed. Ms. indicates that the work was never published, but exists in manuscript. Published works show the original publisher's name, and the date of publication, when that was much later than the date of completion. (The publisher information is no longer valid in all cases; some works have been assigned to other publishers, and some have been taken permanently out of print.)
