The Osborn Duke Collection

Musician and writer Osborn Duke attended North Texas State Teachers College from 1941 until 1942.  His diverse creative activities, which included playing trombone as a sideman with the Bobby Byrne and Sammy Kaye big bands, publishing short stories and a novel, and writing screenplays, are represented by the materials that comprise the Osborn Duke Collection at the University of North Texas Music Library.  The Collection also includes a number of personal papers and memorabilia that give insight into the Mr. Duke's creative process.  Additionally, the collection includes a wide variety of papers from all along the spectrum of his professional activities.
