The Stan Kenton Collection at the University of North Texas contains more than 600 photographs, most of which were a gift of Noel Wedder, Kenton's one-time publicist. The index, compiled by Stephanie Wright, is divided according to Wedder's categories, primarily by the major eras of the Kenton bands. For each photograph the index provides: a UNT identifying number, a list of the subjects, the date, the name of the photographer, and the dimensions of the photograph.

Access to the photographs themselves is provided only by special arrangement with the Morris Martin, Head Music Librarian.
