Circulation Policy
Music Library
The Music Library follows the standard check-out policies of the UNT Libraries. Students, faculty, and staff with valid ID cards and persons holding courtesy cards are eligible for check-out privileges. Questions about these matters should be referred to the Circulation Department, (940) 565-2413. It is not necessary to have check-out privileges to use materials in the Libraries.
Audio Center
Students, Faculty, and Staff may borrow most CDs, LPs, and DVDs for one week. Cassettes, Reel-to-Reel Tapes, Video Cassettes, and College of Music Recordings do not circulate.
Any item designated "Library Use Only" or "Non-Circulating" may only be used in the Audio Center.
Limit:
- Undergraduate students: five items.
- Graduate students: ten items.
- Faculty and staff: no limit.
Fines: The fine for overdue recordings is $2.00 each per day. Recordings must be returned by midnight to avoid late charges.
Returns: Recordings must be returned to the Music Library. Returning materials in the downstairs bookdrop will result in additional fines.
Renewals: Recordings may be renewed only once; after the second week, they must be returned. Renewals are not made over the phone, but you may renew in person at the Audio Center (with the item present) or renew items yourself by logging in at: https://iii.library.unt.edu/patroninfo
When self-renewing, it is important that you check carefully to be sure your items are truly renewed; you are responsible for any fines that accrue as a result of not returning items on time if you have not followed the renewal process properly. If you are unable to renew an item for any reason, you should return it by the due date to avoid fines.
Recordings on reserve may not leave the building without the written permission of the professor for whom they are on reserve.
