Theses and dissertations:  In addition to the 378 microform entries for UNT theses (MicF 160 and Film E1-  ) and dissertations (MicF 161 and Film F1-  ) on music, there are also many from other colleges and universities.  The subject matter of these covers a wide scope of research in the field of music including the areas of musicology, theory, composition, music education, and others.  Many documents on music education are included in ERIC (Education Resources Information Center), and are indexed in Resources in Education.

Theses and dissertations can be searched on the library's online catalog.  In a TITLE search, type in NT Thesis (or NT Dissertation) and follow this with the department or area of study.  (Ex.  NT Dissertation Psychology)  This will access all the UNT theses and dissertations that have been written on that particular area or topic.  The online catalog includes all theses and dissertations from 1990 to the present.  Prior to 1990, most can be accessed through the finding aids which are located in the Microforms Department on the Lower Level.
