Manuscripts and Annotated Proofs of the Works of Charles Dickens
Abstract: The Forster Collection includes manuscripts and annotated proofs of some of Dickens' most famous works. In his will, Dickens left all existing manuscripts in his possession to John Forster, who then gave them to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Manuscripts include: Oliver Twist, The Old Curiosity Shop, Barnaby Rudge, Martin Chuzzlewit, Dealings with the firm of Dombey and Son, Personal History and Adventures of David Copperfield, Bleak House, Hard Times, Little Dorrit, A Tale of Two Cities, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and The Chimes.
