Architecture and Naive Art
was created to compile and eventually publish a visual survey of the objects of decorative, folk, and popular arts made in America from the time of settlement to about 1900. Special techniques were evolved for the 15,000 drawings, or renderings, and they were produced with astonishing skill by American artists creating effects of texture, form and color more vividly realistic than photography.
The Catalog of Architecture and Naive Art is Part 3 of this collection and includes architectural details and ornament, interiors and exteriors, gardens, waterworks, ornamental iron, paintings, documents and prints. The catalog lists each object with details of the date of manufacture, the name of the maker and the place from where it originated.
