- Database that allows you to view and compare the most up-to-date statistical
data for the member states of the United Nations.
- International Data
Base (U.S. Census Bureau)
- Computerized data bank containing statistical tables of demographic
and socio-economic data for 227 countries and areas of the world.
- National Trade Data Bank (NTDB)
- This U.S. Department of Commerce publication contains current and historical
trade-related news releases, international market research, trade opportunities,
country analyses, and a trade library.

- Over 400 statistical data sets sorted by category and by popularity
of the topic. Users can create their own graphs to compare nations. Also
includes national profiles, (mainly taken from the CIA World Factbook),
including statistics for each country, a picture of the national flag,
and an outline map of the country.
- Penn World
Tables (University of Toronto)
- This
online database provides purchasing power parity and national income
accounts converted to international prices for 179 countries for some
or all of the years 1950–2000. The European Union or the OECD provide
more detailed purchasing power and real product estimates for their
countries and the World Bank makes current price estimates for most PWT
countries at the GDP level.

- PRB
analyzes complex demographic data and research to provide the most
objective, accurate, and up-to-date population information in a format
that is easily understood by advocates, journalists, and decisionmakers
alike. Data pertain to four core themes: Reproductive Health and
Fertility; Children and Families; Population and the Environment; and
Population Futures—Aging, Inequality and Poverty, Migration and
Urbanization, and Gender.

- This annual publication provides a summary of statistical, political,
and economic data on all the countries of the world and many international
organizations. For many countries, information is also available for administrative
subdivisions.

Yearbook (United Nations)
- The most current statistics on social and economic conditions and activities

Includes data on national accounts, industry, energy, transport, international
trade, and population.

Data Base
- Comprehensive statistical information on world religions, Christian
denominations, and people groups.
- World Database of
Happiness (Erasmus University, Rotterdam)
- An ongoing register of scientific research on subjective appreciation
of life, which includes the following components: a bibliography of happiness,
a catalog of happiness in nations, a catalog of happiness correlates,
and a directory of happiness investigators.
- World Development Indicators (The World Bank)
- The
premiere data source on the global economy. It contains statistical
data for over 700 development indicators and time series data from
1960–2006 for 226 economies. Data includes social, economic, financial,
natural resources, and environmental indicators. Data selection screens
are intuitive and easy to use. Results can be scaled, charted, and
mapped. Data export options in standard formats such as Excel.

Factbook (Central Intelligence Agency)
- Country-by-country listing of basic facts and statistics on geography,
people, government, economy, transportation, communications, and defense.
Be aware that the date of the information varies widely and in some cases
may be several years older than the issue date.

- Current
population figures and area size for all countries and important
territories and for administrative divisions; population figures for
the largest cities, towns, places, and metropolitan areas; selected
historical population data; summary statistics for countries and
territories as well as for the largest cities and agglomerations.
