K-12 Related Indexes and Databases
UNT Libraries' Electronic Resources
The UNT Libraries provide access to numerous electronic resources, on a variety of topics. Many of these resources are databases or indexes to scholarly journals, newspapers, books, and full-text resources. While some of the government resources are available to everyone, remote access to most of these databases is limited to persons affiliated with UNT.
Use these indexes to identify a citation of interest. If the full text is not available electronically a paper copy may be available locally. For articles, note the author, article title, journal or newspaper title, volume, issue number, pages, and dates. For books, note the author, title, publisher, and publication date. Then check the UNT Libraries' Online Catalog and/or the other Metroplex libraries' online catalogs to see if the material is available locally.
Several electronic indexes offer a special index of terms or a thesaurus to help identify appropriate search terms. Most resources use the principles of Boolean logic (i.e. connecting search terms with AND, OR, NOT) and allow limiting your search by date. Each resource offers an online help menu for additional assistance.
