Founder and President of The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, Curtis King, will discuss the history of the organization from its origins in 1897 as the American Negro Academy. UNT is partnering with The Black Academy of Arts and Letters to preserve the history of this organization, which has been headquartered in Dallas under King’s direction since 1977.
