The Digital Scholarship Workgroup invites you to a workshop on OpenRefine, to be held in Willis 443 on Friday, January 27, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. This is the second in a series of presentations which the Workgroup is hosting this year. You need not have attended the first one to attend this one.

Attendees will need to bring a laptop and have OpenRefine installed on it. The data set will be provided at the event.

Please install the most recent version of the program, OpenRefine 2.6-rc2, which can be found here: http://openrefine.org/download.html

Data cleanup is more fun than it sounds  and pays dividends in many areas, including data visualization, MarcEdit, GIS projects, and just wrangling large, messy Excel spreadsheets or even text files.

Hope to see you there!
