We From Dallas is a documentary about the rise of hip-hop in Dallas throughout the 1980's and the people that created the Dallas hip-hop scene. UNT Media Library will host the film -- the final Doc Spot Film Series event of the fall semester -- at Dan's Silverleaf on Sunday, November 11 from 5-6:30 pm. The event is free and open to people of all ages. 

The director of the film will be in attendance and take part in a Q&A session after the screening from 6:30-7 pm.

The Fall 2018 Doc Spot series is a collaboration between the UNT Media LibraryMusic Library, & Local/Independent music Initiative of Texas (LIMIT) program. The series will focus on Texas music, musicians, and musical traditions, including Denton's independent music scene, music from the Rio Grande, and Dallas hip-hop. 

Denton Music & Arts Collaborative (DMAC) will be on-site to provide resources (including healthcare information) for local musicians.
