If you didn’t know that comics are more than just super heroes, you haven’t been paying attention. In addition to their rising popularity, there’s been a recent groundswell of scholarly interest in this unique literary and art form. From research, to pedagogy, to publishing, comics are everywhere in the academy. Join us to celebrate the opening of the exhibit “Bam! Pow! Boom! Comics in the Library” with a panel of distinguished speakers who will discuss the increasing role comics and other sequential art forms play in the university and beyond.

Moderator:

Christopher Matz, Associate Dean for Public Services

Panelists:

  • Marshall Needleman Armintor, UNT English
  • Samantha Langsdale, UNT Philosophy
  • Jason Helms, Texas Christian University English
