Fall 2011 Workshops

We offer workshops at the Collaboration and Learning Commons in the Eagle Commons Library (formerly the Science and Technology Library), so you can learn how to apply the CLC's hardware and software to your studies and improve your learning experience. The Eagle Commons Library is located in Sycamore Hall (formerly the Information Sciences Building).

If your schedule conflicts with our workshop times, you can arrange individual instruction time with us. Please contact Erin O'Toole, Head, Eagle Commons Library, at erin.otoole@unt.edu or 940-891-6750 to make arrangements.

No registration is required for our workshops. Contact us at 940-565-4745 if you have questions about the workshops. Workshops on additional topics are held at the Willis Library and the Discovery Park Library.

Google Earth Applications

Maps or virtual tours make any presentation or project more persuasive and visually interesting. Attend this workshop to learn how to navigate Google Earth's aerial photos and 3-D terrain, and create maps and 3-D tours. We'll also teach you how to import and integrate GPS data and kml files from the Internet to create customized maps.

If you would like, bring data on your GPS device or smartphone GPS app to import to Google Earth. Remember your cables too! Otherwise, we'll have demonstration data from our phones. The workshops will be held in the CLC, Room 110A. No registration is required.
