1. Where is the copy machine at the Discovery Park Library?
We do not have a public copier at the Discovery Park Library.
- There is a public copier at the mail room across the hall from the library.
- There are public copiers available on the main campus at the Willis and Science and Technology Libraries (for more information see locations).
- You can also make copies at the UNT Copy Center on the main campus.
2. Does the Discovery Park Library have a scanner?
The Discovery Park Library has two publicly accessible print scanners available for use at no charge.
- The copier/scanner adjacent to the reference desk is better for quick scanning. Users select the scanner function and enter an email address into the address book. When your scan is complete, the machine automatically sends a PDF file to you.
- The flatbed scanner across from the reference desk is better for multiple or larger format projects. Users create a image file which they can then email or copy onto a thumb drive.
3. Where is the Discovery Park Library?
The Discovery Park campus is located 4.5 miles north of the main UNT Campus. There are two rooms in the Discovery Park facility that provide library services:
- The Discovery Park Library is located in Room B112 and
provides reference assistance and houses the reference collection,
print journals, multimedia learning center, and group study areas.
- The Discovery Park Book Collection in Room M130 houses the library collection, bound periodicals, and reserves.
4. Can cell phones be used in the Discovery Park Library?
Please use your cell phone outside the library. There is a telephone for public use near the main entrance to the Discovery Park. Emergency phones are available near the parking lots.
5. Can I bring food and/or beverages into the Discovery Park Library?
The Library encourages you to use the benches and tables found throughout the Discovery Park campus for enjoying meals and study breaks. Vending areas are located in various areas throughout the Discovery Park facilities and the Park Place Market. Please dispose of trash in containers located outside the library.
- Food and beverages are prohibited in B135, the Library Instruction & Computer Classroom.
- Beverages in covered, spill-proof containers are permitted in the main study areas of the library.
- Acceptable food items for consumption within the library are those that will not disturb other users or leave crumbs or sticky residues. Examples of acceptable foods are vending machine type candy, chips, snacks, or similar items. Unacceptable food items include fast food, sack lunches, complete meals, glazed donuts, aromatic food, or similar items.
6. Where can I study at the Discovery Park Library?
Three study areas, located to the left of the current journals, are designated for group work/projects. Each area is equipped with a computer, dry-erase whiteboard and a table and chairs for 7 people. Group work is often noisy work; these study areas are located away from other library users, but we still appreciate your efforts to limit disruptions.
Additionally, the Learning Center, B135, is designated a "quiet area" and is reserved for individual study unless the room is scheduled for library instruction. Quiet conversations are appropriate for the main areas of the library including the Internet tables, the casual seating near the main door, and the reference desk area.
7. Is there a designated quiet area in the Discovery Park Library?
The Learning Center, B135, is designated a "quiet area" and is reserved for individual study unless the room is scheduled for library instruction.
