Selecting a Scan Type
- As depicted below, documents can be scanned using either flatbed or ADF

Choose a scanning option from the following items that is most suitable for your purpose:
ADF (Front Side)
- Reads a document set on the automatic document feeder (ADF)of the device.
- When this option is selected, only front side of a paper is to be read.
ADF (Duplex)
- Reads both sides of a document set on the ADF alternately (front ->back ->front ->back......).
Long page(Front side)
- Reads a document longer than the paper size specified by Paper Size. Only front side is to be read.
- When this option is selected, the "Paper Size Setting" dialog box appears. Specify the size of the document to be scanned. In this mode, however, the preview window cannot be displayed and the scanning area cannot be specified.
Long page (Duplex)
- Reads a document longer than paper size specified by Paper Size. The front side and back side of a document is read alternately (front ->back ->front ->back......).
- When this option is selected, the "Paper Size Setting" dialog box appears. Specify the size of the document to be scanned.In this mode, however, the preview window cannot be displayed and the scanning area cannot be specified.
Flatbed
- Reads a document set on the flatbed of the device.
